About the presentation: The Gulf of Mexico is an amazing and diverse collection of ecosystems that comprise an American treasure. It is a place of ecological tragedies, but a place of great hope. Healthy Gulf and the National Wildlife Federation are two of the groups leading the charge to protect and restore the Gulf. Come learn what it will take to make that happen, and what you can do to be a part of it
About the speakers:
Amanda Moore: As the Senior Director of National Wildlife Federation’s Gulf Program, Amanda Moore leads program efforts across the Gulf Coast to build more resilient coasts and wildlife habitat. She specializes in stakeholder engagement and builds strategic, collaborative partnerships with government officials, community leaders, and technical experts to advance conservation solutions and build more resilient communities. Amanda serves as a board member of Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of South Florida and lives in St. Petersburg.
Martha Collins is currently the Executive Director of Healthy Gulf. She graduated from Tulane University and earned a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University and a Masters of Law in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School. She is the founder and former president of Collins Law Group where she successfully litigated, lobbied, and negotiated precedent-setting environmental and land use cases and policies to protect Florida’s environment. She has appeared before numerous governmental agencies in Florida and Washington, D.C., and her work has been quoted or referenced in numerous national and international publications.
