8 a.m. - Meet at Wallace Brooks Park, E. Dampier St., Inverness.

We will walk about 2 miles of the Withlacoochee State Trail bordering beautiful Lake Henderson. There is an amazing variety of habitat here and usually a good mix of birds, wildflowers, and butterflies. We'll especially be on the lookout for fall migrants and can usually sight a few Indigo Buntings. The walk will last about 3 hours. Bring lunch if you want to picnic at the park.

From Brooksville, take U.S. 41 north and turn right on S. Park Ave. in Inverness. Pass the Sheriff's Station and turn right on E. Dampier St.  Go to the parking lot at the lakefront.
