Hernando Audubon takes an active role in advocating for conservation issues of importance to counties that comprise the Nature Coast.
Some recent and ongoing activities include:
Working to strengthen Hernando County's landscape ordinance.
Supporting Pasco County residents opposing the siting of a landfill in an environmentally sensitive area.
Participating in the formation of the Withlacoochee River Alliance, a group working to protect water quality.
Advocating on behalf of wildlife corridors threatened by development.
Supporting Hernando County's Environmentally Sensitive Lands Program.
